My name is America K. Gomez, PMHNP-BC, and I am a bilingual, board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with over eight years of experience in psychiatry and more than a decade in nursing. My journey in healthcare began as a physician in Venezuela, and later I expanded my career in the United States as a nurse and psychiatric nurse practitioner. These experiences shaped my passion for combining medical knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and compassion to provide thoughtful psychiatric care. I founded Polar Star Psychiatry to create a practice focused on long-term, relationship-centered care, where patients feel heard, supported, and empowered. I specialize in accurate diagnosis, psychotropic medication management, and therapy-informed approaches that evolve with each client’s needs. My areas of clinical focus include children, adolescents, adults, and older adults who seek continuity, stability, and individualized care.
